Modern Motorcycling opened its doors in 1966 after Murray Neibel decided to
make a career change from machinist to motorcycle dealer. The skills and
training developed as a machinist were instrumental in establishing 'Modern'
as a leader in the local motorcycle community.
When the doors first opened for business, both Norton and Suzuki were
carried. Today Modern actively supports only the Suzuki brand of motorcycle
and is known as having one of the best stocked parts departments in the
country.
From the very beginning Modern actively supported motorcycle racing, both
motorcross and road. Over the years, many talented and highly-rated road
racers campaigned at North American race tracks with well known 'Modern
Support'.
Restoration projects on British and European motorcycles, such as Norton
Manx, AJS-7R's and NSU's are not uncommon.
Modern regards itself as the "Biggest-littlest Bike shop" in the area.
Modern Motorcycling continues to be a leader in the field of Parts &
Service, complete Dyno testing, Machine work, Custom fabrication, and Suzuki
Motorcycle sales.
